Over the New Year I competed in The Tour de Vineyards in Nelson.
This Tour went from the first to fourth which covered a total of about 350kms.
First stage I was really excited to race and see how my form was. I didn't feel to bad and I was throwing in a few attacks and getting in some solid breaks. A break of about 20 got away which I didn't get into. But my team mate Matt Zenovich was in it and got he 13th. I won the bunch sprint.
I didn't think my form was too bad until the next 3 days came!
I was suffering alot in the heat ( 38 degrees ). I was struggling to find my legs and was hurting alot and couldn't get into a good rhythm. But all this means is my form is a bit low at the moment and hopefully this Tour will bring it up really high for Elite Nats this weekend and Tour of Welly at the end of the month.
So all up the Tour was good training and I have learnt a few things to work on.
Until Elite Nationals, have a good one.
